Marjoram Corn Bread

1 cup flour
1 ½ tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
¾ cup stone ground cornmeal
1 tbsp sugar, honey, agave or other sweetener
1 cup buttermilk
2 large eggs
2 tbsp fresh marjoram, finely chopped
¼ cup green onions, finely chopped
4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
Grease 8-inch square baking pan. Preheat oven to 400°. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a mixing bowl. Stir in cornmeal and sweetener. In a separate bowl, whisk buttermilk and eggs. Pour the liquid into the dry mixture and stir just until all is moistened. Stir in the marjoram, green onions and melted butter.
Pour into the baking pan and bake until the cornbread is lightly browned and pulls away from the sides of the pan, about 25 minutes. Cool slightly before serving.
