Stewing Hens

Delicious Stewing Hens are available!

These birds make fabulous soup stock, stews, chicken salad, and all round good meat for longer cooking recipes. They are small, from 2 to 3.5 lbs. They have lived their lives here on the farm, eating certified organic feed and greens from the vegetable crops grown here. They were able to run around and use their muscles in the sunshine and be outdoors, out of cages. 

They are butchered here on the farm in the most respectful and least "stress-free" manner possible. I love them to death and through it, thanking them for becoming our nourshing food. 

I also package parts for sale: gizzards, necks, feet, and hearts. At times I have liver, also.

They are frozen, unless you tell me you want them fresh. If so, I will tell you when the next butchering day will be. For people in the Sacramento area, I am allowed to bring them to the Carmichael Farmers' Market for delivery if you pre-order.
